Based on specific experience in research and practice, the PhDCentre counsels graduate and research schools. The PhDCentre assists with all aspects of PhD programs, such as with their organization and their administrative structure, construction of databases to monitor the quality of the PhD curricula, the development and evaluation of educational programs, integral strength-weakness analyses, preparation for accreditation, selection and admission procedures for PhD candidates, trends in employment prospects for recent PhD recipients.
Support and advice with self evaluations
The PhDCentre provides specific support in preparing self-studies that figure in the Standard Evaluation Protocol 2003-2009, drafted by the KNAW, NWO and VSNU. The advice and support offered serve graduate and research schools and research institutes responsible for educating PhD candidates.
